Unique local small business accountability group, WOW Wednesdays, celebrates it’s 2nd birthday

The local accountability membership group, WOW Wednesdays celebrated it's 2nd Birthday in June, following a tough year supporting it's members through the pandemic. WOW Wednesdays, founded by chamber member Juliet Thomas of The Curious Creative Club and Clair Wright of A Social Nature, began life as a simple idea to support another small business at the time, Mirriam's Kitchen Table in Kirkburton, in bringing customers into the cafe when it was quiet on a Wednesday, hence the name.

Since those humble beginnings, the group has grown into a force to be reckoned with, offering nurturing support and a whole host of benefits to individual entrepreneurs and small businesses, creating that colleague feel whilst creating action and accountability. It's also a safe space to share and test ideas, or to find answers to particular challenges which can be hard when you are working on your own.

Juliet comments; 'We wanted it to be very different from the regular networking groups out there, and instead encourage action to move forwards and grow their businesses and confidence. Myself and partner in WOW, Clair, were already established accountability buddies, and it worked really well for us, we wanted to extend this model to the local community, and so WOW Wednesdays was born.

Inbetween bi-monthly accountability meetings, members set 3 main business goals and 1 personal (because that's equally important) to try and achieve by the next meeting, a private Facebook Group has been set up, where motivational prompts are posted and links to help keep members on track and share any wins. the group also deliver specialist sessions on topics such as book-keeping, planning, social media, content writing, creating vision boards and business strategy to name but a few.'

The group includes many different skill-sets and businesses, from psychotherapists to ceramic artists, medical herbalists to book-keepers, marketeers to hospitality, we have such an array of talented members, we feel privileged to regularly have their expert insight!

To celebrate the group's 2nd Birthday, we have a 'member offer of the month' coming up in July with the Mid Yorkshire Chamber, where you can receive 20% off the monthly membership price. The group offers a 'try before you buy' session to ensure they are the right fit for you and your business, so why not come along, to a meeting at Joys Coffee House in Kirkburton, one Wednesday at 9.30am - 11.30am to find out more.
