“May you live in interesting times” is reputed to be a Chinese curse. Well, we can honestly say these are interesting times. Rob Osborn from O-BC Business Continuity is used to dealing with “interesting times.”
Rob has 15 years’ experience working with blue chip clients and SME’s helping them to deliver resilience to their businesses. Rob provides Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Security planning for organisations across the country.
With a mantra of “Plan Today to Protect Tomorrow”, Rob works with organisations to help them identify the risks to their business, and put resilience, planning and expertise into the business areas so they can cope with the brickbats life throws at today’s businesses.
“No business can honestly say ‘It won’t happen to me!’ anymore” says Rob. The current situation shows that any business can be affected by the most unexpected events.
Business Continuity planning saves money in three ways; preventing the incident happening, reducing the impact of incidents which do happen and recovering back to BAU more quickly.
Insurance isn’t enough – sometimes, as for COVID, you think you are insured for an event, but you aren’t. “The main thing to think about is, even if you are insured, who will be looking after your customers in the time you are recovering your business? If you don’t, someone else will.”
From his experience Rob sees that businesses who have effective Business Continuity plans on place react quicker, recover better and survive longer.
