The flood defences were not able to hold back the Sunday floods for Elland based Five Talents Creative Ltd. However, the resilient team rose to the challenge to limit the impact the devastating floods would once again have on their business.
Five Talents defied the odds of the shocking boxing day floods in 2015 that completely wiped out the creative studio. Nine months later they were able to move back to their refurbished studio and over the past 4 years the business and team have continued to develop, through repeat business from clients such as Parkdean Resorts, White Rose Maths, Fibrelite, Hargreaves Foundry and new clients including The Secret Drawer, OnPoint PowerPoint, EP Risk and WeSeal.
On Sunday 9 Feb, 2020 the raging power of Storm Ciara hit the UK, the flood proofing and sump pump installed back in 2016 were no match for the River Calder.
On Monday 10 Feb, 2020 Five Talents moved into temporary home office space.
On Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 Feb 2020, Five Talents and the Riverside Mills Landlord cleared and cleaned the studio space.
On Thursday 13 Feb 2020, Five Talents were able to move back into the office space, whilst seeking new premises.
Ade Prosser, Five Talents Managing Director said, “It’s devastating and a difficult time for us but after the impact of the floods 4 years ago, I wanted to do all I could to limit the disruption to clients, the team and our business. On Sunday, myself and a few friends who live locally, headed down to the studio and luckily were able to save the computers. Monday morning, we set-up the server, phones and four of the team in my brother’s home office whilst the rest of the team worked from home. Other than posts on social media, I don’t think the clients really noticed we had any downtime. Once again I am proud of the way my team handled the situation and managed their work without effecting the quality of service we deliver”.
Five Talents Creative Design was founded in March 2000 by the Managing Director, Ade Prosser. After working in several advertising agencies, Ade started Five Talents in his home town, Halifax. The agency’s main aim has always been to provide excellent quality, cutting edge design that communicates and promotes clients' business’s in a clear, no nonsense way - clients speak direct to the creative team! Ade leads the team by example, still very much a passionate creative designer with very clear business acumen and strong principles. Something Five Talents clients appreciate.
