On Sunday 21st July, RRG Huddersfield Toyota transformed their used car pitch into a basketball court in a bid to score 1000 baskets in just 6 hours and fundraise for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
The Charity Basketball Challenge was hosted by Comedian
Steve Royle, who kept the crowd entertained throughout the day with his basketball
tricks. Thanks to the support from the community they reached their 1000 basket
target and raised an amazing £1,858.75.
Clive Mattimoe, RRG Huddersfield Centre Principal, said “The team always try to be innovative with the charity fundraising events we hold and this year has been no different. Our Basketball Challenge saw many staff, sponsors and customers come together to attempt the 1,000 baskets in 6hrs and we are delighted to have achieved our goal with just half an hour to spare!”
Louise Addison, Regional Fundraiser at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, said “RRG Huddersfield has always been one of our greatest supporters and this year they took it to another level. Their 1,000 basketball challenge was completely different to anything anyone has ever done to fundraise for us and the tremendous effort of the RRG team made this unique event a fantastic family fun day out”.
