Local RSPCA bring 'Paws for a Cause' dog show event to Holmfirth

THE RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District branch are delighted to bring their ‘Paws for a Cause’ fun dog show to The Sands Recreation Ground, Holmfirth on Saturday 17th August from 12pm - 4pm.

Local families and their four-legged friends are invited to take part in the 15 class fun dog show, enjoy their ‘Doggy Paw-ty Arena’ and browse around a variety of local stalls including The Cheese Shop, Your Nuts, Lily Pickles and delicious food stalls from New Wave Fish and Chips, Smokies BBQ, Issan Friends Thai and the Ninja Coffee Company. The whole event has kindly been sponsored again by Donaldson’s Vets.

Fay Gibbons, Community Fundraiser said “We’re really excited to be able to bring this event back to the local community. We have some great local businesses from the Holmfirth area attending and we’re thrilled to be able to carry on the legacy left from being the Mayors Charity last year!’’

The event was originally created as part of last year’s Mayor of Kirklees Charity Appeal which saw Councillor Gwen Lowe pick the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford Branch as one of her two chosen charities for the year.

Last year’s event was a great success and the local RSPCA Branch hope it will become a regular feature in Huddersfield’s Event Calendar. To show her continued support of RSPCA, Councillor Gwen Lowe will be attending again as a special guest judge. With classes including Posh Paws, Heinz 57 and eyes that will melt your heart, there is something for every dog!

The event also marks nearly 6 months of the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch’s first Charity Shop opening in Holmfirth. So this really will be a great dog friendly event for a very dog friendly village!
