THE RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District branch are delighted to be opening a brand new charity shop in Holmfirth.
The branch would like to invite the local Holmfirth community and all of its supporters – human and furry friends - to join them for their grand opening at 11am, March 15th. The shop is in the former COOP travel agency on Victoria Street. It has been fully refitted and the branch hope that it will be a very welcome addition to the high street.
Diane Whitehead, Charity Shops Area Manager said “Our incredible staff have been working tirelessly to make our brand new Holmfirth shop as interesting, eye-catching and full of unique purchases as possible! Holmfirth is such a beautiful village, with a vibrant community and we hope that the wonderful public will join us for our grand-opening, find some bargains and of course, help us to raise vital funds for our centre and the many animals in need in our care. There are lots of animals lovers in Holmfirth, so you can expect lots of goodies for pets to be found in our shop too!”.
Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Gwen Lowe, will be our guest of honour at the opening. As an animal lover, Gwen chose the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford Branch to be one of her charities to support for her year in office. Over the last year she has worked closely with the branch to raise money to care for animals in our community, including events such as like the Paws for a Cause at the Sands recreation ground last summer
The branch care for cats, dogs and small animals and successfully rehomed 111 dogs, 281 cats and 73 small animals in 2018, relying heavily on our charity shops to provide this amount of care. Anyone who donates or purchases items from the shops can be certain that all the profits go directly to care for animals in greatest need, many that have suffered from neglect and abuse in the hands of cruel owners”.

The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch are a self-funding branch of the National RSPCA, responsible for raising money locally to support our animal welfare work. Our main aim is to rehabilitate unwanted, abandoned and abused animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We rely on public donations and the generosity of our local community to keep the doors of our animal centre open.
