Brighouse-based card payment solutions provider, Yorkshire Payments, has created jobs for seven local people within the space of a month following a successful collaboration with Huddersfield-based Cornerstone Recruitment.
The two companies worked together to recruit local people to support Yorkshire Payments’ team expansion plans. Yorkshire Payments MD James Howard said his ambition has always been to provide local jobs for local people.
“As a business, we are passionate about supporting the local economy, but finding the right people can sometimes be a challenge,” said James
“We are very keen to expand our teamwith individuals who are proactive, service driven and live locally to the area.
“Cornerstone Recruitment invested a lot of time in meeting potential candidates and finding out whether they were a good fit culturally for our team before introducing them to us,” he added.
Dru Widdowson, managing director of Cornerstone Recruitment, said: “Good people are the heart of any successful business and this is something James recognises.
“The challenge for many business owners is having the time to vet candidates thoroughly to make sure they are a good match and share the ethos of the company, which is where we come in.”
Cornerstone Recruitment has helped Yorkshire Payments fill roles in accounts, customer services and marketing. New recruits include engineers, a telesales executive and a company sales manager.
James said: “These latest appointments boost our team at every level of the business and thanks to Dru’s support we are confident that our newest employees have the right skills and attitude to help our business achieve its ambitious growth targets for the year ahead.”
