Chamber member KLTV, are looking for individuals, advisors and business owners to share their knowledge and experience on a new business series.
As more and more individuals are deciding to start-up their own business, which can be a daunting task and can present many challenges for business owners. KLTV want to help support these new entrepreneurs by producing a series of business programmes which will provide viewers with both valuable and practical advice on where to go and who to speak with to obtain the support they need.
Kirklees Local TV (KLTV) intend to produce a series of ten 20 minute productions, each of which will be focussed on how individuals can correctly and successfully start up an SME and improve efficiencies by fine tuning key areas of their business.

Each programme will feature 2 expert advisors from each of the fields below:
Know Your Market – how to research
Legal Position – what do business owners need to know and what do they need to avoid
Health & Safety – current legislation and advisory organisations
Environmental Health - current legislation and advisory organisations
Capital & Revenue Costs – keeping accounts, tax liability and VAT
Finance – the Bank Manager, bank accounts and loans criteria
Renting Premises – organising services, converting and fitting out
Staff Recruitment & Apprentices – how to conduct interviews and produce staff contracts
Suppliers for the Business – wholesale & retail, payment periods and stock control
Marketing – advertising and promotions to attract new customers
Rates of Pay (Staff Salaries) – PAYE, pensions, national insurance and paid holidays
Contracts & the Legal Aspects – penalties for failing to meet deadlines etc.
Management - Being a boss and effectively managing staff
