Huddersfield-based Chamber member, Synergos Consultancy have recently presented an award to one of the talented senior pupils from The Audrey Spencer School of Dance in Huddersfield. The award is jointly funded by both Synergos and the Dance School and is worth £2,000.
This year’s winner is Brooke Hale aged 16 of Holmfirth. The scholarship award is now in its second successful year and the award will pay for Brooke’s lessons for the year, enabling her to further her training through attending workshops, courses and singing lessons.
This year the audition process involved ballet, tap and jazz amalgamations. Candidates also had to perform a piece of their own choreography and a song or monologue to the panel. The dance school were delighted to have ex professional dancer Claire Pinnington of Huddersfield, as a guest panel member.
Joanne Perkins, Principal of the Audrey Spencer School of Dance said; “Brooke is a popular and talented member of the dance school and has been dancing since the age of 6”.
“Over the years she has auditioned successfully for dancing parts in professional pantomimes and local amateur dramatics. Brooke would like to dance professionally as a career and we hope the scholarship will help her towards achieving her goal.”
Jenny Kilburn, Managing Director of Synergos Consultancy Ltd said; “The best part of the scholarship award is seeing the improvement in confidence and development of the pupils over the course of the 12 months and we are delighted for Brooke.”
