The Hunt Is on For Corporate Santas to Fuel the Sleigh This Christmas

Published 7th Dec 2015 by Rebecca Walker

Huddersfield based charity member start the search for businesses to get involved with their Corporate Santa Appeal and bring joy to over 500 young cancer patients spending Christmas in hospital this year.

As it reaches that festive time of year The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust (LCYCT) is once again embarking on its annual Gifts 4 Christmas Appeal. The appeal was set up to help offer a welcoming surprise to every young cancer patient (aged 13-24) who will be spending Christmas day away from home, family and friends on 1 of 43 young cancer wards located throughout the UK and Ireland.

As the appeal has grown, so has the amount of hospitals that take part. So much so, that this year they are now delivering gifts as far afield as Aberdeen, Belfast, Dublin and Plymouth. This is where the Corporate Santa Appeal comes into play. To make this nationwide scheme possible they are on the search for companies that would be interested in getting involved helping raise funds so that the deliveries routes are covered, and even more gifts can be purchased to make Christmas day just that little more special.

So far they have had many very generous donations from companies up and down the country including Locala, Lily O’briens, Seabrooks and the Victoria Quarter Shopping Centre based in Leeds. However to maximise the effect of this appeal they are still looking for more companies to get involved making this Christmas the biggest one yet.

Pamela Thornes, the trust manager at LCYCT said “It’s amazing how the Gifts Appeal has grown creating us the perfect opportunity to start the Corporate Santa Appeal this year giving companies all over the country the opportunity to get involved. As more businesses get involved it increases the festive joy we can spread to so many brave young cancer patients on such a large scale”.

It’s important to point out that all Corporate Santas that take part in the Appeal will receive positive PR in return as a massive thank you for the incredible cause they are taking part in.

If you feel your business could help make a vital difference to young cancer patients throughout the UK and Ireland. Then join the fight because together we can let these young people know that we are thinking of them this Christmas and they are not alone in this fight.
