Huddersfield-based member and commercial property development specialist Towndoor Ltd has purchased and started to develop a 1.2 acre commercial site part of Albert Works in Albert Street, Lockwood.

Towndoor will be developing what was once a former spinning mill into units to be known as the ‘The Dyeworks’ to celebrate Huddersfield’s textile industry. The area will see a major £2.5m development, including up to 27,000 sq ft of custom-built units.

The Dyeworks is an outstanding new development providing high quality industrial/trade units in the heart of Huddersfield. Offering a range of sizes, each unit will be adapted to individual requirements and features drive in access from a large service yard to the front. Built in natural art stone and to a high specification, all units are profiled metal clad and have an eaves elevation of around 6 metres. With a bright front facing office and modern WC, all units boast Solar PV and the latest fire and security systems.

The development fronts onto Albert Street in a popular well established industrial area just off the A616 Lockwood Road close to the town centre and the ring road
