Chamber member Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice invite you to come prove your Yorkshire credentials in a series of themed games and challenges for the Reet Good Yorkshire Games.
Devised by The Light and in association with Yorkshire Tea, The Reet Good Yorkshire Games will take place at the John Charles Centre for Sport on Saturday 1 August. All funds raised by the event will go to Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, a charity that supports almost 150 local children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.
Teams of ten to fifteen members each are being invited to apply to take part in the action-packed tournament – with challenges including: The reet good coal run, the reet good undie dash, the reet good wheelbarrow race and the reet good tug of war.
Participants and spectators will also be able to enjoy a barbecue, licensed bar, bouncy castle, face painting and other free entertainment in this fun-filled family day out.
With a prize for best Yorkshire-themed fancy dress for each team, everyone who takes part will get a medal as a memento of the day – and the winning team will take home their own special trophy.
Emma Kovaleski Head of Corporate Fundraising at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice added : “We are really looking forward to the first ever Reet Good Yorkshire Games this Yorkshire Day and what is sure to be a fantastic fun-filled event. It costs £3.8million each year to run the charity and with just 4% of this coming from government funding the support of our local community and organizations such as The Light is vital.”
