Member Hipperholme Grammar School's Year 10 student Emilia Cooper, was awarded a Choral Scholarship when she joined the School in Year 7 and has subsequently now been appointed as Head Chorister at Bradford Cathedral.

The Choristership at Bradford Cathedral is awarded to pupils who have passed the School’s entrance requirements and also completed their probationary period to become full members of the Bradford Cathedral Choir. This term, Emilia was proud to be appointed as Head Chorister at the Cathedral.

Emilia said: “When I was asked to be Head Chorister I was very proud and honoured to be chosen. I was delighted with the chance of taking on new challenges and possibly developing other skills that came with that. I have really enjoyed my experience at the Cathedral so far and can't wait to find out what lies ahead.”

Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral, Mr Alex Woodrow, added: “Emilia benefits greatly from the partnership between Hipperholme Grammar and the Cathedral, receiving vocal tuition at the School which directly benefits her choral singing. We are delighted as a Cathedral to have such strong links with the School."
