Doing Business in West Africa 2014: Emerging Markets Trade and Investment Forum

Published 7th Oct 2014 by Rebecca Greenhough

Hallmark Solicitors in conjunction with Hallmark Business Brokers Limited is inviting local businesses to their Emerging Markets Trade and Investment Forum.

The forum on 9th-10th October at Village Urban Resort, Hull, aims to connect UK investors and businesses seeking to establish businesses relationships and investments in the various emerging markets in West Africa.

According to reports by the African Development Bank, West Africa is expected to continue its rapid growth with rates of 7.4% in 2014 as compared with growth of 6.7% in 2013.

Over the years, West Africa has relied heavily on minerals and agriculture to drive the economy. However, meaningful job creation is weak and recent economic growth is yet to tackle the high poverty and unemployment rate that is raising inequality in the region, coupled with chronic lack of infrastructure.

These challenges present investment opportunities and together with the recognition by the various governments in the region of the need for foreign investments, most have taken decisive steps to ensure the safety and security of these investments.

Hallmark Solicitors in conjunction with Hallmark Business Brokers Limited, are very excited at the prospect the investment opportunities and mutual cooperation that this event will generate for West Africa and the UK.

This event is a rare opportunity to learn more about the fastest growing region in the African continent and the numerous investment opportunities that exist in their neighbouring countries. The two day event program has been devised to ensure that delegates have adequate room to network in a relaxed environment.
