Quarterly Economic Survey Q3 2014

Published 27th Aug 2014 by Rebecca Greenhough

‚ÄčThank you to all Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield businesses for your ongoing support of our Quarterley Economic Survey, which contributes towards the national British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) survey.

The Q2 survey presented some encouraging results confirming that steady economic recovery had broadly been continued from Q1. But as is sometimes the case, optimism in some areas was counterbalanced by uncertainty elsewhere.

We observed that to some extent this is the nature of business. Peaks and troughs are to be expected but a lot more needs to be done.

Businesses would like to see real solutions and a consistent policy agenda from Government which will facilitate a business-friendly environment, to best support speedy and sustainable economic growth.

The overall BCC publication provides a national picture which is highly respected and informs the Government, the Bank of England and other policy-makers of all the latest business trends, aspirations and expectations.

Please take the survey and let us know the issues affecting your business.

Fieldwork began on the 25th August and will continue until the 15th Septmber, the results will be sent out to all our members and stakeholders on Thursday 9th October.
