Partygoers at one of Yorkshire’s top venues, Huddersfield-based member The John Smith's Stadium, can raise a glass to the festive season at a packed schedule of celebrations, it has popped the cork on a programme of events for Christmas and New Year with fine dining and entertainment topping the bill.
The stadium is offering a whole range of events starting with an Early Bird Christmas Party that includes a one course hot supper and disco on November 29, followed by Festive Christmas Cracker evenings – with a two course carvery dinner, tribute act and late disco - on 5, 6,12 and 19 December.
Those looking to enjoy a traditional three course Christmas meal with all the trimmings can sit down to Mistletoe and Wine evenings on 5,6, 13 and 20 December, while the highlights of the Thriller Christmas Night, on 13 December, will be a two course carvery dinner and a Michael Jackson tribute act, paying homage to the Prince of Pop himself.
The stadium is also now taking bookings for its New Year’s Eve Party, which includes a buffet with dancing until midnight and there is also a number of festive party nights for those who were working through the Christmas period and have had to delay their own celebrations – or who simply want to banish the January blues.
The events have been organised by Sodexo Prestige, which manages catering and events at the stadium and whose chefs have prepared menus which offer guests a blend of traditional festive fare and modern British cuisine.
The one course supper consists of a turkey and chestnut strudel with roasted root vegetables, while the two course carvery menu offers a choice of roast meats, vegetables, gravy and trimmings.
The three course menu, at the Mistletoe and Dine events, offers starters such as smoked trout and beetroot salad and cream of wild mushroom soup, while main course dishes range from traditional roast turkey to mild curry spiced cod loin.
Desserts range from Christmas pudding to William pears poached in mulled wine and vegetarian and gluten free alternatives are available for each course.
“Whether people are celebrating with friends, family or work colleagues, they can enjoy great food, a great atmosphere and great value for money,” said Kieran Grieves, sales manager for Sodexo Prestige, which operates catering and events at the stadium.
“We do all the organising, cooking and entertaining, so all our guests need to do is just turn up and have a brilliant time,” he added.
