Tour de France themed Chamber activities

Published 25th Jun 2014 by Rebecca Greenhough

We are inviting local businesses to come along to a Tour de France inspired business networking event, Connections Count, at the Cedar Court Hotel, Huddersfield on 3rd July 9.30am-11am.

Connections Count is one of our popular networking events, running every first Thursday of the month, with venues rotating between Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.

July’s event will see proceeds raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance in a Tour de France theme, branded Yellow Yorkshire and we're encouraging attendees to wear something yellow on the day, donating £1 each to the lifesaving charity.

We are also making the most of the once in a lifetime cycling event coming to our region by sponsoring the Huddersfield Criterium. Held on the eve of The Grand Depart, the inaugural town centre 'circuit road race' is on track to attract 5,000 visitors. This year with visitors to Kirklees projected to top 150,000, it is anticipated that many of them will visit Huddersfield town centre to see the exciting event.

Marketing Manager Ellie MacDonald explained: “Just as everyone has been donning their red and white outfits in support of England throughout the world cup, we want to make the once-in-a-lifetime visit of Le Tour to Yorkshire as special as we possibly can too. We’re therefore encouraging local business representatives to our popular networking event to join in and wear their brightest yellow outfits on Thursday, head down and support our local cyclists Friday and then watch the professionals as they take on the great Pennine hills on our door step Sunday!”

Members and non-members alike (£5.00 entry to non-members) are welcome to attend Connections Count and enjoy breakfast and the opportunity to make some valuable new contacts.

View more information and book on the event and follow the event with #ConnectionsCount and tweet pictures of your yellow attire to #YellowYorkshire on Twitter.
