Industry group aims to encourage creative collaboration

Published 11th May 2014 by Rebecca Walker

Just over one month after its official launch, Cognitiv the new industry group established to place the spotlight firmly on Wakefield’s creative, digital and IT sector, will host its first informal meet-up, introducing members and encouraging collaboration.

The event, which takes place at Create on Thursday 15th May between 5.30pm to 7.30pm, is free for members, with Cognitiv inviting those already signed-up to the group to bring a business associate from the creative sector to the first of its informal meet-ups, which have been designed to help foster partnership and share know-how.

The informal ‘meet-our-members’ event, will introduce members in a bid to develop lasting relationships amongst local businesses, whilst at the same time discussing industry wide issues and ways to enhance potential growth across the local sector.

Acknowledging the crucial role that these industries play in Wakefield’s growth and future prosperity, Cognitiv aims to become the voice for the sector, bringing people together to share ideas, develop partnerships and build better business opportunities.

Dan Conboy of member company Statament and Founding Member of Cognitiv, comments: “Wakefield has a strong and vibrant creative, digital and IT sector. We aim to champion this and create stronger opportunities for businesses to work in partnership, whilst also representing our members in relation to industry wide issues.

“By holding our first event so soon after launching, we hope it will demonstrate to our members and those contemplating joining Cognitiv that we are putting our thoughts into action and finding ways to encourage growth and represent the sector for all involved.”

Anyone wishing to attend the event without joining as a member of Cognitiv can do so by purchasing a ticket for just £6.

To join as a member, book your place at the event and find out more information visit www.cognitiv.co.uk.
