Join us in celebrating Le Grand Départ with weekend-long festival

Published 29th Apr 2014 by Rebecca Greenhough

Local businesses across Huddersfield are working together to showcase the best that Yorkshire can offer during Le Grand Départ of the Tour de France when the global spotlight will be on our region.

Stage two of the race, from York to Sheffield, will pass right in front of our Huddersfield office and to mark the unique occasion, we have joined forces with Festival Stage Events Ltd and member The Lazy Camper in Tour Fest – a weekend long celebration of cycling and music.

Camping will be available as well as a range of locally sourced food and drink, live music and children's activities will be running all weekend.

Tour Fest will incorporate a 27 square metre satellite linked LED screen showing every second of Le Grand Départ, including the exciting moments when the riders pass through Lockwood outside the entrance to our estate and it will follow the riders as they pass through Yorkshire and beyond.

Our offices will be open throughout the weekend to provide members with the opportunity to network and experience Le Grand Départ from the Lockwood Park office.

Andrew Choi, Executive Director said “The partnership with Tour Fest is a fantastic opportunity for the Chamber staff and Chamber members to get involved in the Grand Départ experience up close and personal as it passes our front door, we’re excited to be able to join the party.”

We also have an exclusive offer of a limited number of tickets available for members, tickets for each day Friday through Sunday, can be booked on the website or call 01484 483660 for more information.

To get connected, get supported and have your say on business issues that matter as well as benefitting from this great offer, join your Chamber today.
