Wakefield based members HDP Occupational Therapy Ltd is to host a series of first aid courses, presented by a qualified, registered healthcare professional, specifically designed for parents.
This first aid for parents course is designed to reassure parents, demonstrate what to watch for and present how to deal with everyday childhood illnesses and accidents; when to worry and when to seek medical help.
What do you do the first time your baby has a temperature or your toddler falls over and grazes a knee? Or what if it is getting increasingly more serious, how do you know and what are you going to do about it?
The course is approximately two and a half hours long, covering the basics from normal vital signs, to CPR and Choking. There is a programme of open courses avaialble to both just parents or groups of 8+ at a preferred venue.
There is also the opportunity to focus on preferred areas for example, if there is another area of concern e.g. a child with asthma, allergies or requires an Epi pen time will spent on this ensuring parents are confident dealing with it should this issue arise.
Course fees are £35 per person for individuals on open courses. Group courses for 8 + persons are discounted to £20 per person. Which includes further information packs, a small first aid kit and an attendance certificate.
The school holidays are coming and there are also two dates for a childrens first aid course, because you never know when your friend or an adult might need some help too.
