Energy management consultancy Orchard Energy has unveiled plans for a major recruitment drive in 2014 as it prepares for expansion at each of its UK offices.
The announcement follows internal re-organisation during 2013, which saw the appointment of four new associate directors. Managing director of Elland-based Chamber member Orchard Energy Gareth Henderson, said the company had already started recruiting for newly created positions at its head office in Elland and regional offices in Bristol, Newcastle and Glasgow.
In Elland the company is looking to appoint two new business development executives. “Our focus last year was on creating the right management structure to take the business forward so that we could hit the ground running in 2014 to boost the size of our sales teams,” said Mr Henderson. “By recruiting hard in the first quarter of this year we will be in a position to significantly increase our client portfolio over the next 12 to 18 months with comprehensive nationwide sales and account management coverage.”
Orchard Energy was founded in 2004 and is part of the Orchard Group, which includes waste management firm Orchard Environmental and IT and telecoms company Orchard Networks. The group currently employs 90 people. Mr Henderson said 2014 would also see further expansion of Orchard Energy’s energy solutions and water management services.
“Energy purchasing will always be high on the agenda for businesses as they strive to overcome the impact of rising gas and power prices but 2013 also saw strong demand for efficiency advice and planning and this is a trend that looks set to continue.
“Water is a natural bolt on to Orchard’s energy operations, complementing our other utility management businesses, and will be an important part of our expansion plans in Scotland where the industry has already undergone deregulation and where our energy business is growing rapidly, our Glasgow team now being responsible for more than 200 clients.”
