National Coal Mining Museum needs your votes!

Published 22nd Jan 2014 by Rebecca Walker

Wakefield based member the National Coal Mining Museum for England has recently submitted a bid to enter a Culture24’s Connect10 competition, and was successful in being shortlisted, but now needs your help to win.

The competition involves a range of museums, galleries, historic houses and other cultural institutions bidding to have one of ten artists to host an evening event in May. The Museum put a bid in for the artist, designer and musician Fred Deakin to do something amazing.

Fred’s idea is to hold a ‘day-glo game show party’ in the successful venue, and the Museum is hoping to make the most of its interesting and intriguing spaces (both above and under the ground) in such an event. This will all be accompanied by a huge party to finish off the event.

However there is only one way that that the Museum will be able to "win" Fred, and bring this amazing event to Wakefield – the campaign needs public votes. You can vote for the Museum on the Culture 24 website. Not only that, anybody who votes will be eligible to win an Ipad mini or tickets for the event in May!
