Resolve to learn something new in 2014

Published 31st Dec 2013 by Rebecca Greenhough

Start your year off by expanding your business skills, for just £5.00. We are holding a range of training events in January to make sure you are clued up on topics from social media to business know-how.

Member company Chadwick Lawrence will be giving a 60 minute insight into the perils and pitfalls of social media on 21st January at our Wakefield office from 8:30-10:00. Delving into the legal implications of your employees using social media, this seminar will cover the risks businesses currently face, the present legal position and how this impacts upon the employment relationship. It will also cover what steps can be taken to minimize any risk together with advice on the policies that should be in place and the procedure for tackling disciplinary action where such misconduct arises.

On 28th January Business Doctors advise how finance planning and application processes need not be a daunting prospect. Held at our Huddersfield office from 8:30-10:00, at just £5 to non members and free to members, the seminar includes a light breakfast and free onsite parking.

And make sure you make 2014 your year to grow with help from Chamber members, The Design Mechanics and Lattitude7. Free for members and just £5 to non members, this highly interactive workshop will see delegates learn how to position their business for growth in the New Year. It will be held on 23rd January from 09:30 - 12:00 at the National Coal Mining Museum and includes learning key communications skills, ways to build rapport with your clients and how to present your key marketing message to clients and prospects and build an automated lead generation process.

Stewart Leahy from The Design Mechanics told us “Our last marketing seminar held through the Chamber was a great success with over 50 Yorkshire businesses attending and getting involved. I’ve already seen growth in the local economy first hand in the last 6 months and now is the time to monopolise on this for all businesses. Martin and I have prepared an exciting and fun seminar that will provide genuine tips and techniques to help all businesses prepare for 2014 - the year to grow!”

All events include a light breakfast and opportunity for networking, book now to guarantee your place.
