Orchard Networks Appoints Head of Telecoms

Published 11th Nov 2013 by Rebecca Walker

Orchard Networks has appointed Paul Windmill to the role of Head of Telecoms as it prepares for major expansion of its telecoms business with 25 new jobs planned over the next three years.

Orchard Group, a Chamber member and its Orchard Energy sister company a Chamber Partner, launched its Elland based telecoms arm earlier this year to offer landline, mobile, broadband and VoIP installation and technical support alongside its existing IT solutions, waste management, energy purchasing and energy efficiency services.

Neil Ewing, director of Orchard Networks, said the company was preparing for aggressive expansion and that Paul would be responsible for driving forward its growth strategy.

"Paul has been tasked with helping us build a sizeable telecoms team during 2014 and beyond to ensure we maximise opportunities for new business and deliver a superior service that is high on service and low on cost," said Mr Ewing.

"He has a strong background in telecoms and his industry knowledge will be invaluable as we grow.

"Expansion will begin in earnest in the New Year with targeted recruitment to ensure we have the right skills within the Orchard Networks team to deliver business growth."

Orchard Group managing director Gareth Henderson said delivering high service levels and low costs would be a priority.

"Our Networks business works alongside Orchard Energy and Orchard Environmental to help organisations manage their essential utilities strategically as a way of keeping budgets under control and reducing costs," he said.

"We already have a proven track record of excellence in energy, waste and IT management and the time is right to expand our telecoms services alongside these other business areas."
