West Yorkshire Graduates Have Talent

Published 14th Oct 2013 by Rebecca Walker

The Graduate Opportunities Programme (GO) is currently working with 310 recent graduates in Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees to support them into work.

On this Department of Work and Pensions funded programme, graduates receive support from careers advisers at The University of Bradford, The University of Huddersfield, Aspire-i and C&K Careers to achieve their career goals. Already they are securing positions such as catering co-ordinator, creative marketing executive, administrator and production engineer.

The GO 2013 programme builds on the success of last year’s GO project when 82 % of those enrolled left the unemployment register, and the University of Huddersfield has been nominated for a prestigious Times Higher Education Award, for services to the local community for their contribution.

Currently they have graduates registered from a range of Universities from Cambridge to Bangor, holding top class degrees including physics, fashion and zoology. They are all seeking work locally, regionally and nationally and already they are being snapped up by local employers, who are impressed by their skills, talents and work ethic.

For further information or if any local employers would like to promote their vacancies to the GO ‘talent pool’ please contact: Cathy Denney.
