It’s not often lawyers and the art world mix, but at Ramsdens' newest office in Wakefield it’s made for a perfect combination.
Ramsdens have recently moved offices to Wakefield and have redecorated with a range of photography by photographer John Steel of John Steel Photography.
Having recently moved into new premises on Cheapside the office space had lots of white walls and that’s when the idea to fill the space with local artists and photographers work came about.
John from John Steel Photography commented: “I was delighted when Ramsdens asked if they could use some of my pictures of Wakefield to decorate their offices. It's fabulous that people will be able to see some of the famous local landmarks in Ramsdens new office (including the Hepworth, the Theatre Royal Wakefield, Wakefield Cathedral, Sandel Castle and Sharlston Colliery Wheel to name a few).
It's fantastic that local firms see the importance in working with local artists and not relying on stock photography.
It’s also a real plus for artists and photographers to have their work on display in a business environment and to be able to provide a source of enjoyment for the staff and visitors to Ramsdens alike."
Sinead Sopala, director of marketing at Ramsdens comments, “Supporting the local arts community is important to us and being able to showcase the artist’s work means they are able to display their art in a new setting, exposing it to a new audience, a great example of the benefits of local businesses and art working together.
“Now that we have launched our first exhibition, we’ve already started to think about who the next artist could be. We would welcome enquiries from any local artists interested in using the space we have in any of our nine offices across the region.”
