MY Chamber HR Offer Launched

Published 23rd Jul 2013 by Rebecca Greenhough

In business, having effective HR practices in place is absolutely crucial if you wish to meet the many challenges facing SMEs in today‘s professional world. That is why we have launched a range of discounted HR services to members to assist them with management and employment matters.

The services, launched this week will be provided in conjunction with two of the regions leading HR specialists and Chamber members– Pennine Business Partners of Huddersfield and Halifax based Organic HR.

The support includes free seminars and surgeries, online ‘how-to’ guides, access to a free HR health check (worth £75) and an online ‘ask a question’ facility via the Chamber’s LinkedIn group.

In addition, Chamber members will be able to access a range of model documents and templates to help ensure that their employment practices are legally compliant.

The Chamber HR package is designed to make running a business easier and is structured to deliver increased efficiency, peace of mind and improved performance.

The first session will be held on the morning of 7th August at the Chamber’s Huddersfield office focusing on effective recruitment and selection; with further seminars throughout the year on handling change and the fundamentals of employing people.

Lynn Bradley, of Pennine Business Partners, said: "The bottom line is that HR is about managing people well. It’s about bringing the right people into the business in the first place and then making sure there is a good relationship between employer and employee while they are working for you."

Spencer Lord, Partner at Organic HR, said: "Lynn and I are very committed to the Chamber and supporting business in our region, we’re delighted that the Chamber approached us to provide this programme and we’re very excited about getting it underway."

For more information there is a dedicated Chamber HR subgroup in the Chamber LinkedIn group where news, event updates and HR tips will be shared with members. Or follow event updates with #MYChamberHR on Twitter.
