YORKSHIRE BUSINESS GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
Santander UK is expanding its Yorkshire Corporate Banking operations following a strong year of growth across the region. It increased business lending by 71% in 2010, lending £353 million to the regions businesses – and has equalled this in the first three-quarters of 2011.
As a result of the increased demand, Regional Director Neil Williams is currently recruiting several Relationship Director roles and is looking to expand into Bradford, Doncaster and Wakefield. There are three existing Corporate Business Centres in Yorkshire, based in Leeds, Hull and Sheffield.
Due to the growth of the Yorkshire business over the past year, Santander Corporate Banking is also planning to recruit additional credit experts to the Yorkshire team. Credit Partners work alongside the Relationship Directors, attending customer meetings and helping to deliver appropriate lending facilities to customers and prospects.
Neil Williams, Regional Director for Yorkshire at Santander Corporate Banking, said:
“I’m delighted with the progress being made in Yorkshire. Across the region, we’ve already lent more to SMEs in the first three quarters, than we did during the whole of last year. 2010 was an excellent year too and our performance this year confirms that we have gathered real momentum in the Region.
“I think it’s really important to have people on the ground in the key local business markets across Yorkshire, so I’m excited about the prospect of expanding into Bradford, Doncaster and Wakefield. The plan is to have two Relationship Directors in each town, in addition to the 30 people across the existing business centres.”
