The Chamber has announced the Wakefield Wildcats as their newest patron making it a hat trick after the recent addition of IT Farm and Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
Members of the Chamber celebrated the new partnership with the rugby club’s executives and supporters at the weekend’s derby between the Wakefield Wildcats and the Castleford Tigers.
Andrew Choi, Executive Director of the Chamber said: “This is a fabulous opportunity for the Chamber and the Wildcats to develop a really strong connection.
"Aside from the commercial benefits, everyone appreciates the lessons that business can learn from the sporting arena. I’ll be looking into possibilities for knowledge transfer between the club and local companies in disciplines such as leadership and teamwork. We will also be campaigning loudly to keep the Wildcats in the Super League.”
Martin Hopkins, Commercial Manager at Wakefield Wildcats said: “We are really pleased to be forming this partnership with an organisation such as Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
“The contacts and expertise they have will help us promote our club and the fantastic facilities we have to the wider business community.”
The Chamber is holding its monthly networking event at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on 21 July where delegates will hear from Wakefield business-man, Ian Taylor who made a successful bid on the BBC TV show, Dragons Den.
Martin continued: “We are really looking forward to hosting this event at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium and looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”
The Wildcats join fellow patrons and loyal members Wheawill & Sudworth, Eaton Smith Solicitors, Pennine Telecom, IT Farm and the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
