Chamber member, Organic HR are celebrating their first year of trading this week.
Their first day of business was 6th April 2010, the Tuesday following the Easter weekend. “We arrived in our new office premises with a bottle of champagne and four glasses” said Partner Nancy Ellis. “We didn’t even have any chairs, so we all sat on the floor to toast our new venture. Then the hard work began, starting with a trip to an office furniture supplier!”
Organic HR LLP, a human resources and people development consultancy are based in The Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre in Halifax town centre. The team currently comprises three partners and an office manager, and they are already anticipating an increase in their team later this year.
“We are pleased to say that our first year has been really quite positive. We did have a couple of quiet months initially, but we couldn’t have expected any different in our first year, and we are finding that local organisations are really interested in our range of services and seem keen to use a local business to support them in their employment matters.”
The team are pleased to say that the office is now fully furnished, and the empty bottle of champagne has pride of place on top of a bookcase. “We hope it will bring the business luck” said Nancy, “and we’ll be adding a second one to it this week, although we probably won’t sit on the floor to drink it this year.”
