Chamber Member to Speak at 'Mumpreneur' Conference

Published 13th Apr 2011 by Rachel McDerby

Sarah Ainslie, a freelance marketing consultant based in Wakefield and a Chamber member, is to deliver a marketing and PR workshop at the forthcoming Mum’s The Boss Big Day Out event – the Bedfordshire based women’s business support group’s first national conference.

Alongside Sheffield based PR consultant, Sarah Chapman of Seven Twelve PR, the workshop will offer ‘business mums’ an insight into the golden rules of conducting their own marketing and PR to gain maximum effect and use tight budgets wisely.

Taking place at the Hilton Hotel in Leeds on 4th June, the event is expected to attract delegates from across the north of England and beyond. The line up of speakers includes Baby Ballet founder and winner of ITV’s ‘Mumpreneur’ award in 2008, Claire O’Connor; Mama Tea founder, Anna Louise Simpson and Director of The Association of Work at Home Women, Jenny Flintoft. You can see the full agenda here.

“I am really honoured to have been asked to participate in this fantastic event, which is a first for northern based business mums” Sarah explained.

“I started my business 4 years ago after having my first child and it has given me a great deal of flexibility as well as a fulfilling and senior level career: a combination which can be hard to find in a part time employed role.

"I have even managed to take maternity leave during that time when I had my second child through partnership with another ‘marketing mummy’. I’ve always tried to support other mums in business so delivering this workshop to working mums en masse is a great opportunity to share some of the things I’ve learned, not only as a professional marketer but as a mum running a business and marketing myself.”

As well as running her marketing business, Sarah maintains a ‘business mum’ blog at www.marketingmummyuk.wordpress.com and ‘tweets’ as @marketingmummy on social media platform, Twitter.
