A security company in Wakefield has been named business of the month in a competition run by Eaton Smith Solicitors to recognise local talent.
AMR Security Services provide security staff and accredited training for people working in the security industry from their centre in Fairburn.
They have won contracts with local councils and have worked in partnership with Safer Leeds, British Transport Police and West Yorkshire police in the last two years.
The company has some of the highest trained security staff in the region. Their 28 strong-team all have valid SIA licences and undergo regular in-house training.
AMR was established by husband and wife, Andrew and Jackie Russell in 2008 after Andrew was made redundant from the print security sector.
Judges were impressed by the company’s remarkable year-on-year growth and aspirations for developing the business by adding to their range of training courses.
Managing Director, Andrew said: “This is a pat on the back for all the hard work from our staff since we formed the business.”
The company has achieved a raft of standards in the last three years and they scored in the top five percentile nationally in the Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme, ISO 9001:2008 to name just two.
“We always believed that because we went for the accreditations and qualifications that one day we would be recognised,” continued Andrew.
The Business of the Month Award is run in association with Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and Business Link.
It is open to firms in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. Contact Ian Greenwood at Eaton Smith on 01484 821389 for more information.
