Qualification Will Improve Chamber Service

Published 7th Dec 2010 by Rachel McDerby

The Chamber can now boast an extra member of staff who is qualified to handle export documents for businesses trading internationally.

Hayley Nutt who is an apprentice at the Chamber has passed the British Chambers of Commerce Export Certification course.

It means she now has the authority to stamp certificates that exporters require to meet the strict guidelines set out by customs and other officials overseas.

Said Hayley: “I’m really pleased to have passed and I’ve done it earlier than expected. It’s great to know that I can authorise things on my own.”

This new addition has increased the capacity of the export documentation team so customers will start to see improvements to the service.

The Chamber is the only designated authority that can issue EU and Arab Certificates of Origin in the Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield districts.

The service is available to all businesses at commercial rates but Chamber members are eligible for significant discounts.
