Discover all the ways you can support your local children’s hospice at a Volunteer Roadshow
Forget Me Not relies on an army of supporters and volunteers who make a significant and essential contribution to the £4 million the charity needs to raise to continue to care for more than 500 children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire. From clinical care, respite, support groups, counselling, playgroups for siblings and bereavement support, Forget Me Not is there for any family confronted with the news that their child has a life-shortening condition.
Chair of the KAL board of Trustees, Dawn Stephenson, said – “The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice do an amazing job supporting families and young people in some very challenging circumstances. KAL is delighted to work with Forget Me Not and to host this great opportunity at Dewsbury Sports Centre to find out a bit more of what the Children’s Hospice does and how you can help to make a very positive difference as a Forget Me Not volunteer.”
Louise Addison, regional fundraiser for Huddersfield said: “We can’t do what we do without our supporters and volunteers who raise vital funds so that children and families get the care they need, whenever and wherever they need it. With the closure of Grace’s Place our sister hospice in Bury due to lack of funding, we need new volunteers with fresh ideas more than ever.
So whether you’ve got some time on your hands you want to put to good use, want to help out at one of our events, meet other like minded people and make new friends or you’re part of a group or club that wants to put on its own fundraising event - we’d love you to join us on Tuesday 17th September to discover more about how you could do just that!”
The information event is being held at Dewsbury Sports Centre 10am – 2pm with talks on the hour.
