The economic success of the district is good news for communities and businesses alike. A more successful economic area means more jobs, more visitors, increased investment, improved skills and more money in the local economy – which is something we’d all like to see.
We have a fantastic set of assets here in Wakefield, but we believe that more needs to be done to raise its profile and image to make the outside world, in particular potential investors, workers and visitors aware of our offer, with a view to securing more investment, stimulating more visitor spending and attracting more talent to the area. We also want to harness local pride in our local area.
One of our priorities is to build on the success of previous work with partner organisations and the business community to develop the ‘story’ for Wakefield, identifying what makes us distinctive, and creating a competitive, coherent and compelling narrative and brand proposition that we can all use as ambassadors for the area.
We would very much welcome your insight and opinions in support of this piece of work to help us shape that story by attending an interactive workshop to collect your insight, thoughts and knowledge of Wakefield.
We are running four workshops across the district; the content of each is identical, so please choose the session that is most convenient for you. You can book a place via the Eventbrite links below:
Please do circulate the invite to others who may be interested in getting involved, we are hoping to incorporate the views of as many people as possible.
If you have any questions about the workshops please contact Bethany Sampson at firstname.lastname@example.org If you would like to know more about this work please contact Lucinda Jackson, Service Manager – Communications, Customers and Change on 01924 303454 or email email@example.com
