Social media can be an excellent marketing tool for businesses however, companies need to remain cautious as employees can seriously damage a businesses reputation through personal use of such sites.

Social media related problems are now regularly arising within the workplace and can include bullying, harassment, discrimination, bringing the business into disrepute and causing potential loss to a business. It is important that companies are equipped to deal with these problems as and when they arise.

The seminar will cover the risks businesses currently face, the present legal position and how this impacts upon the employment relationship. It will also cover what steps can be taken to minimize any risk together with advice on the policies that should be in place and the procedure for tackling disciplinary action where such misconduct arises.

The seminar will be presented by Mandy Walton, a member of the employment law team at Chadwick Lawrence LLP. Mandy joined the firm in 2006 and has a wealth of experience advising commercial clients on all aspects of employment law
