The Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme could help.
The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme will pay up to 80% of the wages of employees who would otherwise have been laid off as a result of the virus, up to a cap of £2,500 per month. The Government has announced details of a package of financial support for businesses and the self-employed to help mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 virus. This week (W/C 30/3/2020) Kirklees Council has written to all businesses in Kirklees who are eligible for either the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant or Small Business Grant to let them know that they need to complete an online form on the Council website in order to ensure payment as swiftly and securely as possible at the beginning of April.
