Regenerate Kirkgate is an ambitious project to redevelop Kirkgate Station. Further funding has now been secured for the scheme and it is now in a position to develop more final designs for the station and submit a planning application. It is anticipated that the work will start to regenerate the building in August 2012.
Groundwork will be carrying out a consultation over the coming three weeks to engage local residents, station and train users and the wider population of Wakefield in the redevelopment of Kirkgate Station.
This information is extremely important to secure additional funding and to ensure the development needs of the local people and station users.
