1 Day Appointed Person

This course is suitable for organisations were a qualified first aider is not required, but there must be "an appointed person" to satisfy the needs of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Card of Competence is valid for three years.

This course contains:

  • Principles and practices of First Aid

  • Responsibilites of the First Aider

  • Reporting and Recording including Hygiene Procedures

  • Open Airway

  • Treatment of conscious and unconscious casualty

  • Resuscitation to include new guidelines

  • Treatment of Choking Asphyxia/Hypoxia

  • Treatment of Clinical Shock (bleeding and bandages)

  • Treatment of burns, scalds and eye injuries

  • Injuries to bones, muscles and spinal injuries

  • Treatment of Head Injuries Concussion and Compression

  • Treatment of Crush Injuries and Amputations

  • Medical Conditions

  • Recap key points, feed back to all students

All delegates to wear trousers for the practical sessions
